LPG stands for liquified petroleum gas. It is a readily-available energy source consisting of either propane or butane. It is known for its versatility and can be stored and transported safely.
LPG has the lowest CO2 emissions of any off-grid conventional fossil fuel.

All gas cylinders have their own tare (empty) weight displayed on them. Cylinders are filled to the maximum capacity.
To monitor your remaining gas supply, we recommend using a scale.
For example, if a 13kg cylinder weighs 25kg, the tare itself may weigh 12kg while the gas content weighs 13kg. To gauge the remaining gas level, simply place the cylinder on a scale and note the weight. If the scale reads 14kg, you would deduct the tare weight of 12kg to come to a final figure of 2kg of gas.
This will need to be returned to us for inspection. Please contact us immediately at the first sign of a potential leak and we will arrange for collection.
This will depend on the size and type of the gas bottle.
If you have a propane cylinder (47kg, 19kg, 18kg, 11kg or 6kg), multiply the size of the cylinder by 1.96. To use a 19kg cylinder as an example, 19 x 1.96 = 37.24
If you are using a propane cylinder (13kg, 7kg or 4.5kg), multiply the size of the cylinder by 1.724. For example, 13kg x 1.724 = 22.412.

Shop Gas bottlesEvery appliance and its power settings are different, so there is no one single answer.
For a more exact (but still not 100% accurate) figure, you will first need to work out the heat energy of your cylinder.
As each kilogram of gas produces 14kw of energy, you would simply multiply the size of your cylinder by 14kw. To use a 13kg cylinder as an example, 13 x 14 = 182kw.
You would then divide this figure by the heat setting on your appliance. To continue the example with a 4.2kw/h cabinet heater, 182 / 4.2 = 43.33 hours (based on a full heat setting).
For a step-by-step guide to a gas cylinder installation, please take a look at this video produced by Flogas.
You can swap your gas cylinder for any cylinder within the same category, which are as follows:
